well some of you may know that i installed a hid kit and i got them working properly but recently i got into the little fender bender and one day i was bored and tested to see if my hids still worked.. well i turned them on and they were on high beam but yet the dimmer switch thing inside car was low beam but when i switch to my brights they shut off? anybody know what the problem is? what did the crash do to my lights?
anybody?
bad ground
maybe but it worked all good before the accident happened until after the accident it happen? would it still be that bad ground? i monkey around with it tomorrow and see what happens when i switch the ground wire around could i just connect it straight to the battery by anychance?
that sounds like a ground problem. The low beams ground through the high beams with lower resistance. yes you can connect the ground straight to the battery if you want. you can also hook the powers straight to the battery for test porpuses.
alright if thats not it what else could be the problem then?

Blown fuse......High side element coulda gotten broken by the impact shake.....Lots of possibilities.
Check the fuse first.....If its good, jumper power directly to the bulb directly. Are the bulbs even good still?
Need to verify some things are good or not, before digging in too far & searching.

its not the ground i moved ground around and even put it straight to the battery.
i looked at the fuse thats in the wire harness they gave me which is in line with the power. its not blown.
the lights are are on high beam when they are on and when i shut them off the go to low for couple of seconds then turn off so i assume that means the bulb still works.

and i dont know how to put power straight to the bulbs they need to go through the ballast? unless your just telling me to put the postive and negative cables to the battery then yes i did that and still same thing

By ballast, I assume you mean you have HIDs? Stock lights have no ballast.
Just looked....I musta missed the part about the HIDs. Problem is, its kinda hard to diagnoses a custom kit, especially when we don't know WHAT kit you have, or the wiring for it.
I don't know HIDs, so I'm useless for advice now.

lol i have the bi-xexon ones... were both high low in same but angled different... me either idk wdf happened... idk if its just the bulbs or the whole wiring.. or maybe its because i have a blinker bulb out?
