Rewiring a 84 Z28.

I have a question. I have a 84 Z28, with a 350, no computer. Most of the wiring harness has been removed from the engine bay. I THINK everything is there to start and run the motor. If not, would it be hard to rewire the engine bay? Is there an after market harness for this, or would it be easy to run my own wires? Also inside the car, under the steering column there are a lot of wires hanging. I would love to just get rid of a lot of these wires and just run the bare minimum. Any ideas would be great, thanks

Several years have passed since I did this, but IIRC, you need nothing (except a ground for cruise control from the ECM and a provision for back-up lights) from the ECM connector on the pass side kick panel into the engine bay. With that harness removed, you may 'be' down to the bare minimum. Everything else--gauges, lights, etc.--should function as designed.
