Dash harness
I am in the process of an engine swap in my 89 camaro and im getting close to start time..... the car started life as a 2.8 5speed car, when i got it the previous owner had swapped it to v8 carb. I ended up selling the car after removing pieces i needed 4 another. long story short i bought it back yrs later as a shell and i chnged it back to efi but ive been testing thngs and it seems like the original 2.8 dash harness is pinned diff than the outside tbi eng harness. i also have acess to various diagrams and it looks like there different. i contacted a few fbody places but nobody is sure. i knw i cld probly re-pin but if sombody can tell me for sure that they are diff i would rather just swap to the correct harness...... any help or even suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks
Re: Dash harness
The dash harnesses are indeed different
V6/TPI harnesses are almost identical, TBI has the VSS ran completely different
Im not sure if MAF style cars used the buffer box or not, SD cars did not while the newer TBIs kept it
Pull up the pinout for the V6/TPI and compare it to the pinout for the TBI
A few changes and runner wires should be the extent of your work
