We are looking at buying a 1989 pontiac firebird 2.8liter v6 with auto tranny. The question i have is the guy who is selling it says that it wont start and that he had a new ignition put into the car and the people who did it clipped to white wires or something like that i was wondering if that could be why its not starting and also i was told that can fry the ecm is this true??

The car has been sitting for 5 years has been started before the guy ssaid he couldnt start it after these to white wires were clipped under the column.
