Radiatio fan switch..

okay i just swapped the engine out of my 92 formula 5.0. I replaced it with another 5.0 from an 86 monte carlo ss. heres my question, on the bottom of the block on the passenger side of both engines appears to be a knock sensor. now on the passenger side cylinder head of the original formula engine is another sensor that is almost identical to the knock sensor which im assuming is the fan switch for the radiator... now since i dont have this sensor on the new block, and my fan is not working, how can i wire the fan to turn on at the appropriate temp. Or better yet, can i install this sensor somewhere else?

You are correct - that is the fan switch. Is there not a plugged hole in that new pass head that can be unplugged?

not that i can tell. i cant really see it because the manifold is in the way. i didnt nitice that the sensor wasnt there untill i put the engine in the car already. the only thing i can really do is feel around and i cant tell if there is a plug there or not. I'll have to get a mirror or something so i can see better.
