digital tach wont light up

The tach doesnt light up like the rest of the dash, it also reads the incorrect rpm. Ive searched but didnt find any reason why only the tach wouldnt light up brightly. Any ideas?

Re: digital tach wont light up

So I understand the tach does appear to work, as you can see the "segments", it's just not brightly lit anymore?

If so, it's most likely a burned out bulb. The digital cluster uses a few illumination bulbs to help brighten the display and make it readable.

You probably know that in a conventional dash, there's illumination bulbs that are used at night to light up the cluster. The digital cluster uses those same bulbs, however, they're on all the time and controlled by the thumb wheel near the headlight switch. There's one illumination bulb right behind the tachometer, and thus, I would suspect it's burned out.
