how many volts should the cooling fan switch be getting?

how many volts should the cooling fan switch be getting?

how many volts should the cooling fan switch, located on the passengers side head, be getting ? Mine reads around 12 volts. thanks in advance

Cooling fan switch doesn't get 12v does it? It's the ground for the fan relay - if you ground the wire for it, the fan comes on. I guess if it's grounded it's getting 12v maybe - but it shouldn't have voltage on it.

With it grounded it will be getting 12v.

thanks guys. just tryin to tie up some loose ends. this was my first swap. and i got murdered with this wiring. but now that its done. i have to find out why my SES light is on but i cant get communication to the ecm through the OBD hook up. im gonna try to get a new ecm and new custom prom and see what happens. if that doesnt work then im gonna buy a new wiring harness.
