Metallic Tint and Proximity Alarm

Metallic Tint and Proximity Alarm
I am going to install an alarm system with a proximity alarm and wanted to know how influential metallic tint is on the function of the proximity sensor. Anyone have experience with this? Am I better off avoiding metallic tint? Also, has anyone had an experience with the Black Magic Line of tint products?
Thanks

Time To Take Out The Trash
Proximity detectors do not use sound.
They use capacitance.
When the piece of street trash (A.K.A. criminal) comes too close to the vehicle it changes the value of the reading in the electronics, setting off the warning or alarm.
You are better off avoiding metallic tints unless you have time to experiment.
Metallic tint will reduce the proximity detector’s range depending on makeup of the tint.

Re: Metallic Tint and Proximity Alarm
it works out fine, of course it hurts range. i've got it set so with the windows up if you're standing close to the windows or peeking in it'll beep and otherwise won't go fully off. when the windows are down the distance of the warning stage moves more outside the car another foot or so. you can walk past it like when parked next to another car and you're walking between them and it'll beep at you. it takes somebody reaching in for the full trigger to go off. it's adjustable. my back window is supertinted and i've never gotten beeps from that way but it's also further from where i mounted the sensor (under the radio). its so reliable i turned the shock sensor down completely so stupid loud noises dont make it go off
