Coolant Temp Swoes!!!

So I am rewiring after my 83 T/A 454 swap and I hit another speed-bump. I was looking for the wires that goes to my coolant temp sensor and found the correct connector in the infamous pile of spaghetti but it seems as if the temp sensor runs through the ECM. Seeing as how I pulled my ECM out thinking that it wasn't needed when going to carb this presents a small problem. Is there another way to wire this thing or am I s.o.l.? The wires coming from the connector are yellow and black and run to the large connector on the pass side kick panel. I figure that someone else has run into this issue too while doing the motor swap. Thanks!

If your building an engine like that, you should have a good name brand set of gauges n e ways and if you really want to be like a pro they have a 2nd set with a tach under the hood so you can see what's going on while you tune.

The 3rd set for the naviagtor seat is an extra step if you race with company.

Your really out there if you installed a 4th set for the guy in the car behind you to watch.[ ooops Im the loon with a tach built into the tailights ]

Sounds like you have the coolant temp sensor (CTS ) not the temp gauge sensor .CTS is only temp sensor that goes to computer for engine operation
See

Gauge sender unit is seperate one wire sensor ( usually green or green/white wire ) in one of the heads .No gauge wires run through computer
