I can't find a relay socket for the radiator fan relay
I need a new relay socket for the fan relay, but Government Motors doesn't stock them anymore. Anybody know where I can find one? 92 RS 5 liter..

Found one - but the price is NOT good.

You can simply crimp female spade connectors on the ends of the wires, and then stick them on the relay tabs - just use the spade connectors that are covered in plastic so they can't accidentally touch one another.
You can also use any relay and connector that has the same number of wires - like the starter enable relay - any relay does the same job - just a matter of getting a relay and connector, then splicing the wires into the new connector.
I'll keep hunting. I'm surprised that your dealer can't get it - I got one from my dealer about 2 years ago no problem, and it was way less than that $59! I'll check my dealer tomorrow for you - if I can get ya one, I'll let ya know, and you can Paypal me or something.

Here's another, slightly cheaper:
http://www.rmsautoparts.com/products.php?cat=48&pg=9
This is a connector for a regular square relay like the starter enable relay - much cheaper, could splice one if these in, and just start using the square relays instead (and I have ordered from this company before):

OK - located an AC/Delco part number for ya ... PT282 | 12102491
Think the longer number is the GM part number - got it from here:

Check to see if a local auto parts store can order - look for places that can order AC/Delco parts (like CarQuest) - or maybe your dealership can find it now that you have a part number for them

Thanks. Let me know what you find. I might be able to make the socket work. only one of the wires is shorting out. I can wiggle it and the fan will come on. I would have to pull the wire out and try to connect it to the tab. That is w/o wrecking it completely.

I located a relay socket at a bone yard. It was on a 92 RS. Nice and new looking, I installed it and it's working fine now.

Cool! I didn't get a chance to check with my dealer today, ended up at the vet with a sick kitty.

No use checking with GM dealer. They're on a parts system linked to every dealer nation wide. Hope kitty is on the mend.
