hey i have a 90 rs that i recently swapped for a 350 and a new tranny, the problem is my fuel delivery im really new at the mechanic stuff so i dont understand what was happening, i hooked it up to the modis machine and it said i was not connected, i also tried the flash method, i hooked it up on the far right top and bottom row like the other forum said, so my two questions actually are, could my computer be gone. it is not cranking at all and i have no fuel pulse just a little wining from the engine followed by emtpy sounding death ha. second could the engine swap have messed up the computer the service number ends in 8674 and i know that the caprices came with a 5.7 so im just not sure help please

 

Are you getting the code 12 "No reference pulses to Electronic Control Module (ECM)." code? If so, that's a normal code - you get it everytime you pull codes - it's letting you know that there are no current reference pulses to the ECM (from sensors) because the ECM is in diagnostic mode and it can't receive sensor info AND transmit stored codes at the same time.

 

im not getting any code at all thats the thing it isnt connecting to it says that there is no computer there, i was just wondering if it had something to do with the engine swap and what you think the problem is
