Trunk Hatch Pull down Unit Not Working?

Trunk Hatch Pull down Unit Not Working?
One day i just open the trunk and i noticed the mechanism not moving when i close the trunk it locks but the motor is not pulling it down? Does anyone have any idea what it could be or how to fix. It worked perfectly fine before so im guessing all the wires are working so does that mean i have to replace the motor or is there a way to fix this problem?
