Procomp distributor! how think you about it??

hey guys,

i have a Procomp distributor bought on ebay about 1 year back
with a nice clean cap.
i installed it on my camaro and it works just fine.

sometime i hear bad story`s about the distributors from procomp!

So what is true about the story`s ??

i only know from my distributor that when the engine is iddling i have no
vacuum response on the vacuum line from the distributor to setting the timing!

i don`t now if this is normal?

What port is the vac line from dist hooked up to?
One carb port has no vac @ idle; other has vac full time
