Intermitten heater/blower fan question......

91' WS6 LO3. My heater/blower fan kicks up-down and off/on while driving and stopped at lights. ??Fan relay or the fan it's self?? Thanks! Mike

Re: Intermitten heater/blower fan question......

Is the fan motor changing speeds, or is the air changing vents back and forth to the defroster vents? If fan changes speed, then the relay/fan motor wiring. If switching vents, then it's a vacuum leak.

could be a loose wire on the motor itself

Re: Intermitten heater/blower fan question......

It changes speeds on it's own and off/on, even with the car in park. If Christmas wasn't right around the corner I would just replace both (motor and relay)... I will have to get up in there to check for loose wires. I'm assuming the motor is up under the Pass. side dash like all my other GM cars I've owned???? I heard the relay is on the firewall under the hood, Is this correct???? Thanks for the input!
