speedo not working after trans swap
just finished my T56 swap, the speedo is now not working, it worked before.
the VSS plug on the auto was not the same as on the manual, I got a plug from GM with 12" leads, both leads are white. so does it make a deference? I soldered and shrink warped them.
how do I tell if the VSS is working?

VSS Mess
You can monitor the output of the VSS with an audio amplifier to make sure it’s putting out a steady signal.
Connect the amp’s input to the output of the VSS as you would a CD player.
Ground to ground, the signal wire to the inner wire of the audio amplifier wire.
When driving, or simulating VIA having the car on a dyno, you will hear a hum which increases in pitch when the wheels ate turning faster, if the VSS is good.

How bout those too scared to drive without headlights in the daytime
and the ones that need headlights for a little rain

Re: speedo not working after trans swap
Get a converter box
The stock VSS outputs 4,000ppm signal which is compatible with your stock speedo. The T56 outputs 11ppr or 17ppr depending on the year. Your ECM/buffer box has no idea what do do with that
