I figured I have an alt. drain,so I put another alt. on and started to turn it over and my tac pegged out.Car hasn't been started in 2 months so it drained the battery before it started.It's a old battery.Also when I hooked the ground cable up I got a spark jump from the cable to the battery.Should that happen?I didn't think it should I had nothing on in the car and not even a key in the ignition.This is a 89 iroc if it matters.I havn't been working on it cause of money and weather.the battery was going dead before just siting and a member said disconect the altnator to check that and the battery didn't drain down for over a week.So I figure it's the altnator.It was charging when it was running though.This altnator that was given to me in a trade deal isn't a 100% match.But the conector did hook up.

 

Ok,I put the old alt. back on got it running and after a few revs the tac came back to life.Not going to try that again!
