bad ground? trunk release prob.
sup thirdgen. i have a 92 firebird base. my problem today is. the trunk release system. it seems to work properly BUT. the problem is, as the trunk is closed once i open it. the hatch wont come up, upon noticing that. i check the motor, and it appears to be warm/ semi hot. upon disconnecting the motor waiting for about 5-10min. the hatch works fine. assuming after its cooled down, i cannot disconnect it after closing it as its too far in the back to reach from the inside. so there has to be a constant on/ bad ground? can anyone help me locate the problem and give me a solution? would gladly appreciate it =)
thanks again third gen.

Check the reverse switch. Little black lever to the left of the latch. Try hosing down the mechanism with wd-40. (White lithium grease in a spray can is better, but wd-40 works as kind of a cleaner as well.) Good luck!
