Not the usual aftermarket steering wheel question

I hope I posted this in the right place. I promise I have looked all over for this in the board and cannot locate the answer.

My car currently has a Grant wheel on it. I have a very nice stock 1991 airbag steering wheel that I wish to put on. I have toyed with this once, and am having issues with the horn...I know I am doing something wrong with this...but I can't seem to get the horn to work. I assume I am installing wrong. This is going on the proper car. A 1991 Camaro Z-28, and I have all the parts. Question is, is there anywhere I can get a step by step for this install?

Re: Not the usual aftermarket steering wheel question

let me know how it goes.

previous owner put in the grant on mine, and the horn doesnt work either. he has 1 wire hooked up to the grant emblem button on the middle of the wheelk, but there are 2 connectors?

i am also wanting to put in the stock gta wheel, and am trying to find out if anything was removed to install the grant, that i will need to put back on factory wheel.

if you figured your wheel out, your experience will help me very much

Connect the wire coming from column or hub to the center terminal on back of horn button.

The horn works when the wire which went to the OEM buttons is grounded.

just gave it a look, it was into the middle connector. tried it in the other one, no luck. then back to the center, no luck. i'll manage without a horn. i'll be acquiring a new wheel soon anywho, i'll check it out then. PO thought he was an electrical whiz (not true) and he probably hacked up the OEM connection.

what does the other connection on the horn button go to?

That’s for cars that do not ground the button wire.

However Camaros do so you can tie one of the connections to ground, and the other connection to the horn wire.
