Needs lots of electrical help

Ok. First a little back story. My car was an originally a 1985 z28 TPI. Now it has a carrbureted 327. So I have my hood off and fenders off so fixing and removal of stuff is easy at this time. I will ask what is what one thing at a time and hopefully someone can help in determining if neccasary. So my first will be the green and black and purple wires that look like they used to go to evap canister. At a point a purple one breaks off and goes to exuast. What is it and is it needed

Basically, most all wires from the pass side wiring harness can be removed - all that is ECM stuff. Everything on driver side is required to keep - that's your ignition, lights, horn, etc.

A lot of the stuff from passenger side crosses to drivers side. I have looked at the electrical diagrams. But they do no good if I can't read them

Only things that "cross over" are the fan relay wires, the fuel pump relay wires, and maybe a few injector wires.

Why can't you read them? It's in english. It expands you know - hold mouse over it and you'll get a magnify glass with + in it - click and it expands. All your looking at is wire colors and what color wires go to what - simple.

Let me rephrase. I don't understand them. Not to. Mention if I had been starting this myself it would be al little easier. But I am dealing with somebodies piece o **** hack job. Wires spliced, cut , going to nowwhere. And even if I know what a wire is, I still don't know if it is needed. Such as the wires in question in my first post
