Hey 3rd-Geners,

I pulled out my radio and A/C-Heater controls and noticed two wires with a plastic clip not hooked to anything?

I'm sure some of you will know what it is!

Thanks in advance.

What it is is fried! Don't connect that to anything!

Doesn't look familiar to me.

Wiring diags: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/index.php?pid=19

Scroll down past 1989, there's ALOT of 1992 wiring diags, most should be same (for radio, heater controls, dash junk) - see if that helps.

OK, I'm seeing lines from looking at all these!
It's gotta be in there some where!

I know. Sorry to 'throw you to the dogs' by just giving you wiring diags, but I truly have no idea what it would connect to.

Have you tried operating everything in that area? Heater controls all work? Radio functions normally? That red wire is pretty big, so must be a hi-draw thing like heater fan motor. Maybe power antena? But - what ever it is, is was used for something at one time, or else it wouldn't be fried like that. Maybe check your RPO codes and look for a factory option that you no longer have functioning in that car.

Everything seems to be working, i notice the size too, it's actually orange, probably hard to tell by my crappy iphone cam, I was thinking power antenna also, but i have a second pink one more in the radio wires harness, these seem to be coming from else where?

I'm going to try to trace them in a bit.
