Hatch Release Help

My hatch release decided to stop working. I don't have the key for the hatch but have a replacement lock. But the only way to open it is figure out why my release isn't working. I pulled apart my console today. Wires look fine. When I hit the switch the relay clicks. I new to the whole electronics thing so can someone tell me if that means the relay is bad? If so I'll replace it but if not does anyone have a suggestion for what I should try next? Thanks for any help.

Re: Hatch Release Help

Does it not work when the engine is off either? On mine the engine must be off for the release to work. Try checking the e-brake switch under the center console... i think that may have something to do with it because the e-brake must be engaged for the hatch release to work while the engine is running.

Also, just because the relay is clicking doesn't mean that it's working

Re: Hatch Release Help

It worked fine up until the moment I was about to change the lock. The switch would work with the engine off or on as long as it was in park. Also when it worked I didn't need the ebrake engaged.

Re: Hatch Release Help

sorry i should have asked if it was auto or manual. If they relay is working, you need to check for power at the latch
