1986 firebird trans am help!

heres my problem. when i turn my turn signals on they just stay lit, it doesn't blink on the inside of the car or on the outside just stay solid, so my brother tells me its my flasher only problem is i'm new to car stuff so i dont know where it is, i heard its under the steering wheel to the right under the dash plate you have to take off next to the radio side, they said on the other side is the haszard light fuse. so is this right and if so what does it look like in a 86 trans am so i know what i'm looking for?

Your flasher is located in your fuse panel. It's one of the aluminum enclosed relays..Some are round depending on year..

I'd try bulbs first - flasher rarely goes bad, but a blown bulb will make it not flash. Just because the park light comes on doesn't mean the turn signal element is good (these bulbs use a two element setup, one for park lights, one for turn signals).

ok i will try that, a friend of mine was telling me the same thing today because my left front turn signal light is blown but my right one is fine so he said the same thing. thanks for responding!
