The owner before me took the smog off the IROC including the cat.. It's a quadrajet.. Now the check engine stays on and that aggravates me to no end. Can the computer be programmed to disregard anything smog related? Thanks

 

Did they take the O2 out, or is it still there? You'll need the O2 sensor for the car to run decent.

Maybe it's just the EGR the ECM is missing, because there's nothing with the smog pump or AIR that will set a code.

You need to grab a paperclip, pull the codes and tell us what they are.

 

I asked and he said he cut the cat so im guessing the wire is gone too. how much truble wud it b to put the sensor wire back in? can the computer b set to not acknowledge its gone?
