Well when i bought my car the motor wasnt in the car, so i am putting it back together, heres the distributor, i need help with general info on it and whats missing, im sure it needs a cap and cables XD but i dont know if i still need the rotor

 

You're missing the cap and rotor.

 

Wow, that looks pretty rusty, but not a problem as long as it still turns freely. Rotor goes right on top of the shaft in that slot and then the cap covers it all. Before actual use you may want to make sure it still has some heat sink compound or dielectric grease under the ignition module

 

ok, the part that is really rusty, whats it called? also, should i buy the parts online like ebay or should i go to autozone?

 

The rusted part is the reluctor. It's just a dumb piece of ferrous metal, doesn't matter how rusty it is on the outside as long as it turns freely.

 

ohh ok then ill just leave it, and about where to buy the rotor and cap, where should i get it?
