need advice asap

my cars stuck halfway in road and wont start

1984 Trans Am
went to pull out of garage this morning and realized none of the guages were working, not even my aftermarket tach or temp guage

then i shut it off,bad idea

now i turn key no starter clicking,no relays clicking, nadda,i did bang on starter and i belive that helped it start one last time, still had no gauges, and then yup i shut it off

now its stuck in the road
battery is fine
grounds and cables seem fine
no loose wires to battery and starter

im thinking its the starter, any ideas?

Re: need advice asap

Start by checking the fuse links either at the starter, on the same post with the battery cable, or at a junction block by the battery on the radiator support. They are probaby loose.

Re: need advice asap

solved..the p.o had jumped the neutral safety switch and i must have kicked it loose gettin in this morning.

however,still having problems.

guage fuse keeps blowing
dash illum fuse socket has no power to it
acc ports in fuse block have no power to them

everything was fine last nite,oh and this morn i put parking lights on and bell was chiming warning me they were on eventhough car was running and doors were shut

i pulled headlight switch incase it was bad but still blowing guage fuse

Re: need advice asap

You need to check for power at both red wires to the ignition switch. One powers the ACC portion of the switch. The other powers the ignition portion. Sounds like the ACC side is not getting power. As far as the gauges fuse goes, you need to find the overload.
