Two Fast Wiring Questions!

FIRST:

I have checked every schematic I can and only see two wires at the fuel pump, but I have three. A pink, a grey or tan, and a ground. What are the pink wire and grey/tan used for? The pink goes up to a wire bundle and I think into the back of the fuse panel.

I'm going from EFI to carb. Is there anything in the fuse panel I can already use, or any existing wiring that might be useful?

SECOND:

What are wires in this picture. I am pretty sure it went to the coil, and I now have an HEI distributor. Are these two wires for the distributor? If so I'll cut this connector off and add spade connectors to go to the distributor.

If these are for the distributor, what do I wire to the HEI distributor.

Thanks!

Re: Two Fast Wiring Questions!

The pink is +12V to the pump. The gray/tan is the output from the sending unit to the gauge in the dash.

I didn't need to run any separate wires to my fuel pump in my 92 Camaro when I swapped from the V6 to a carb'd 350. There is enough fuel in the carb bowls to start the engine and run it long enough until the pump kicks once the OPS sees pressure. I do have a backup to run +12V to the pump relay since I thought I would need it. Its just a wire with a spade terminal on it that I stick into an unused connection on the fuse block under the dash. Useful for when you need to run the pump with the engine shut off like when checking fuel levels in the bowls.

For the Distributor connection, that looks like your +12V(pink) and tach(white) wires. Just put some female spade terminals on them and slide them onto the correct terminals on the HEI cap.

Alternately you can wire the pump relay to the Ign switch so pump runs as soon as key turned on.

The fuse block connection I use is only hot when the key is in 'run'. I didn't mean to give the impression it was one that has constant voltage.

Sweet, you are about the same place I am in my v6 o 350 swap jetblack! Are you using the original starter wires to power the fuseblock?
