Lights flashing after battery install
Lights flashing after battery install
I just purchased a '91 RS 305 auto. I replaced the battery and after hooking it up all the lights in the car and out started flashing. I can hear a relay activating under the dash that sounds like the flasher. After a minute or so it stops til I shut the car off, then the cycle starts again. Is this some kind of security feature, and if so can I shut it off somehow?
I'm a diehard Camaro man, always having at least 2 in the driveway for the past 15 years or so, but they have all been 2nd gens. My dd is an '81z28. Recently wanting a 3rd, I finally got one and I can see its gonna be a learning curve with the ECM, sensors, etc.
Any help will be greatly appreciated

sounds like the p/o installed an alarm
Re: Lights flashing after battery install
I found a small clear box zip-tied to the steering column that had 2 adjustable timer *****. After activating the " flashing" again I turned them both down and it stopped, so I unplugged it. All is fine now.
Thanks for the help 89rs_82z

adjustable ***** sounds like a rice burner mod, maybe some kind of "cool" thing that was once on a switch of somekind and somehow disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it activated itflad you fixed it
