HELP!!!! Good known Fuel sending unit and still the gauge stays past full

Axle/Gears: 3.42\ posi 3.73
HELP!!!! Good known Fuel sending unit and still the gauge stays past full
Okay i bought a fuel sending unit from pull a part outta 92 camaro to go in my 85 camaro so i plug it in turn the gauge by hand to empty and to rose all the way past full...my car originally didn't have a float arm for the gauge for some aparent reason which leaves me to this situation now...what exactly should i look for? my car originally had the idiot light dash with giant gas gauge so i swap a full cluster and of course had the same problem.
