Autometer Pro Comp Ultra Light Air/Fuel Gauge Questions
I just bought an Autometer ProComp Ultralight air/fuel gauge 4375. I was wondering if there was a way to wire it up on my 82 Firebird. I have no o2 sensors the way it is but I have a bung on each collector of my headers. I have no computer either, just strictly carb.
The gauge has three wires coming out of it; one red (power), one black (ground), and one purple (signal). I work at an autoparts store and have access to the full range of o2 sensors but what do I need?! We carry mostly Bosch o2 sensors.
I also read while doing some searching that you can wire the single gauge to a switch to get readings from each side of your motor; left or right.

This is the gauge:

And I realize that this is the o2 sensor kit they recommend:

**I have the bungs already on my headers and I have the wiring that comes with the kit as well; just no sensor.

Any single wire O2 sensor will work.
There isn't much point to putting a sensor in each bank, just pick one.
Then again, a narrowband sensor isn't all that useful in the first place.

No the stock thirdgen 02 have a single wire...if you have longtubes i would recommend converting to a 3 wire heated 02's you can buy them off the shelf i ordered one for a 95 chevy 350 pick up those have the 3 wires 2 black and 1 white the white is the signal wire and the black ones can be used either way 1 must be 12v accessorie (power comes on when you turn the key) and the other 1 ground. you will give a better reading this way... but like Aperion said a narrowband isnt all that great it will still give you some AFR reading but if you wanna go all out buy the wideband controller.
Good luck
