Wiring Question- Need Help Bad
OK i got an 89 RS v6 that Im converting to a Non computer controlled carbed v8 with a manual Transmission. i removed the computer and cut the wiring harness but i beleiv i cut to much. i cut all the wires all except for the headlight and turn signals wiring bt i still got about 4-5 inches of all the other wires in the engine compartment coming through the c100 bulkhead connector. Im not going to be runnin AC or heat or my wipers. Its gonna pretty much be a track car but ill drive it on the street also during nice days. so I guess all Im really needing to know is what all wiring do i need? All i really need is the headlight/ taillights, turn signals, and radio and of course the guages.. the wiring for the headlights and turn signals is till intact and the taillights and radio. How do I connect the starter and ignition, Im gonna be running an HEI ignition with vaccuum advance,. There are 4 big wires still coming through the bulkhead and they appear to be the ones that would attach to the starte. Does the positive battery wire run directly to the starter?

you need to familiarize yourself with what the harnesses do in your car. a great source of this info is here:

the passenger side harness can disappear completely. the driver side one splits into two pieces; one is wipers & lights, the other is guages and misc hook ups.

Re: Wiring Question- Need Help Bad
for the car to be street legal, it has to have working wipers. just fyi. you shouldnt have cut off any of the driver side wiring. it will have to be put back the way it was, or rigged to work. the large pink wire is the main ignition wire.
