VATS Key Question

I just put a new column in my 90 IROC because the last owner cut out all the air bag stuff for a momo wheel. I want the orginal stuff in the car. My question is I did the measuring of the key on mine and the new key and my key measures 749 and my new key measures 1470. 749 isa between number do I need a key blank #3? I am confused.....

Re: VATS Key Question

Since you have the original key which I'm guessing it started the car before and now you replaced the column which I'm guessing you have a key for it and the ohms are different for each key. Why not just swap the lock cylinder from the old column to the new column. Then you can use your original key.

Re: VATS Key Question

Because my old column has a push button in the ignition switch to release the key and I really hate it, and the new column doesn't.

Re: VATS Key Question

Turns out my key was a #13 7500. Had one cut and car starts perfect!
