Heater/AC Woes...
Alrighty, as project 'Rehash the Camaro' continues, when I bought the car it had nothing going on in the heater/AC department. I thought it may have been a fuse, but the fuse is good. The dash was conveniently half apart because there was no radio so I delved into the controls and the a switch was toasted. (Airtex Partnumber 1S2328 or something like that). Its the one thats connected to the 'AC/Heat' Slider. Found a switch (Junkyard) which appeared to be intact, plugged it in and more nothing...
turning the blower fan on, still nothing, swiping the controls all over creation, I hear the vacuum hissing away and the dome light dims and brightens so electricity is going SOMEWHERE, but more nothing. The AC compressor isn't kicking in either. I quick jab of one of the AC nozzles says theres still gas in there (Though I suspect its low which may be stopping it from kicking in).
Ideas? Because it's already in the freakin' 90s

Re: Heater/AC Woes...
Update: I've topped off the A/C and it still hasn't kicked in so I'm guessing it's something else. Will the compressor kick in if the blower fan doesn't kick in?
Re: Heater/AC Woes...
The compressor should kick on when the selector has been moved to any of the A/C positions....Including the defrost. You should have someone operate the switch and you listen at the compressor. No noise....i.e. solenoid click....No work!! That would be about the time I call my favorite certified mechanic for advice

However first fix the blower.
Even if the compressor works, no blower means the cold air will not be delivered.
Using a fused jumper wire apply power directly to the blower + terminal.
Did the blower run?
If yes use a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) to probe the blower relay pin A red wire.
It doesn’t matter what position the ignition key is in.
Is there power on the red wire?
If the blower did not run when you used the jumper make sure the ground side was making good contact.
If it was, replace the blower motor.
Once you have a functioning blower we can address the compressor.

Re: Heater/AC Woes...
After getting the blower working, you can check the compressor by removing the low pressure switch connector and jumping it out. A paper clip works well for that. As there is a lot of info on this site, have you done a search looking for a solution?
