cars a 1992 Z28 TPI 305. one night when driving home the voltage dropped to 8 volts then i slowly died. i made it home. only to figure out my alternator was able to boil water with the heat generated... so i swapped the alt twice now, theres no power being put back into the battery.... anyone have any suggestions on where to start checking? pictures of anything i should look for would be the most helpful.

 

7 views and no one can offer any help at all? awesome... i got a buddy to build me a new alt at work today, its bench tested at 105 amps. if this works on the car then wicked. tip, never by wrecker parts.
