no spark after heater core replacement
no spark after heater core replacement
I have an 88 Trans Am, 305 TPI... have the heater core bypassed and today replaced the heater core ...the dash was partially removed/reinstalled and ignition coil was also removed and reinstalled to access the hoses on the firewall. Now the car is not getting any spark. Help!!
Is there something I could have missed in reassembling the car?
There is a plug on the driver's side under the dash, with 5 wires... black, light gray, purple, tan & white, and a dark tan (?) there is also a ground with this plug's wiring...now I can't figure out where this plug is supposed to go!!!
and if it could have something to do with the car not getting spark? The car has a digital dash in case that is relevant to this plug.
Any help would be appreciated!

Re: no spark after heater core replacement
Have you checked that both plugs on the distributor are connected? Same for the coil.
Re: no spark after heater core replacement
Yes they are all connected. Tested the coil and it tested slightly out of range so replaced it today and still nothing. Back to the drawing board...

Power at the pink wire on the coil? (with ignition on)
Unplug the 1-wire connector by the blower motor (the "timing connector"). That will isolate the distributor from the ECM. If you still don't get spark, you have a distributor problem.
