HELP!!! im having camaro hatch motor problems
ok i have a 1989 iroc z camaro. the hatch pull down motor was jerry rigged together just so it wld latch and hold the hatch down. literally the plastic motor housing was in pieces and the motor was torn off the rest of the latch. in other words it didnt work when i purchased the car. i junked what was left of the old one and started looking in salvage yards for a (new) one. i found two in nice shape but only one worked. i bought that one and it is complete, but when i bolted into my car and reconnected the wires it doesnt work. im not sure if there is a break in the wire, a blown fuse or if one of the relays (either in the console or below the hatch motor in the trunk) is bad. any answers would b helpfull

Make sure the LID fuse and the ACC fuse are good.
If yes, use a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) to probe the black wire at the connector located at the left rear.
It’s an 8 pin connector.
Is there power there when you press the hatch release switch?
