digital odometer roll back
Im working on my 99 camaro now and the new motor is going in soon I know the mileage is set in the cluster not the computer. Seeing if anyone knows how to reset it to 0. Or is there any places that anyones knows of that I can send it out to? I called chevy its 250.00 for a new cluster with 0 miles on it. Thats to much to spend on this.

Resetting the odometer is against the law. If your state does a yearly state inspection, They read the odometer which gets recorded through the DMV. It raises alot of red flags if all of a sudden the car has no milage or less than the previous year.

Re: digital odometer roll back
Regarding re-setting speedo's, there's lots of tribal lore that is taken as
religious doctrine.
For employment, me & the resto project are currently in AZ.
My intention all along has been to get the speedo reset (TOTAL resto,
etc., etc.), & I needed to get some other instrument cluster service work.
What I found out is that legal restrictions are waived for vehicles older
than 10 years. And I'm pretty sure that was Federal, rather than local State.
So do your own research, particularly w/ respect to your individual state's
regulations.
Good luck.

Re: digital odometer roll back
Yea I found out its not illegal. Its only illegal if I try to pass it off as having low miles. But if I have the sticker in the door jam that states what mileage the car had when it got reset and I dont sell the car saying it has zero miles im good. I found a gut local that does it for 200 bucks
