Fuse #11 (Int Lights) Blowing

1991 Camaro Z28 5.7L with every option except disc brakes.

Since I got the car, fuse 11 (20amp) has been indiscriminately blowing. It controls interior lights, door locks, and rear hatch release. My power mirrors also stopped working today, but I don't know if that's the same fuse. Unfortunately, the PO thought he was an electrician, and I've yanked over 200ft of hot non-factory wire that was hidden behind the dash and under the carpet. I haven't removed any factory wiring. I have not been able to consistently replicate the trigger; it seems to be random in occurrence.

I'm simply wondering is there a known issue to cause Fuse #11 to blow, or do I need to start tracing wires?

Thanks, as always.

The most likely cause is a bad cigarette lighter.

Disconnect to verify.

Re: Fuse #11 (Int Lights) Blowing

Main thing to do is to undue what the PO did. Remove aftermarket wires so it doesnt look like a spagetti factory under the dash. That fuse is the ACC fuse. Like you said, it controls interior lights, door locks, hatch release. It also powers the mirrors, cig lighter and also the horn relay for the horn. Shorts can be hard to find. Main thing is to try and find whats causing it to blow consistantly. Opening the door, using door locks, etc. Does the fuse blow out of nowhere? A little investigative work will go a long way.
