88 IROC Fuel Pump
Hey there -- my 88 IROC wouldn't start. I felt the fuel pump wasn't working. Went and bought a new one. Before dropping the tank and going through the hassle.. I grabbed the tank fill up neck and rattled it around a bit. Car started right up. Wiring issue? Crap in the tank? Anyone else face this?
thx

Re: 88 IROC Fuel Pump
That is pretty common that the fuel pump gets stuck and won't run but if you rattle it (hammer on the tank, rattle the fuel fill neck etc), it will happen to start up again.
Mine does the same thing from time to time. I made myself a little "defibrillator" to zap the pump momentarily and get it unstuck and then when I turn the key, it primes and the engine starts.

i had the same problem with mine i ended up finding the problem in the tank were it plugs in and i fixed it by bending the tabs to fit tighter and i used some electrical grease to help it
