CAN bus system?

Do 1989 Trans Am's have a CAN bus system? I don't think that it picked up enough by then, but I really thought that I might be able to get a confirmed answer first.

Thanks.

Re: CAN bus system?

CAN bus is one of five protocols used in the OBD-II vehicle diagnostics standard. The OBD-II standard has been mandatory for all cars and light trucks sold in the United States since 1996.

Re: CAN bus system?

FWIW, the most common speed for vehicle CAN bus is 250k but yes I believe the standards facilitate up to 1M.
