Found this while changing gear oil. Doesn't look to good and I want to change it. But is it just a connector? And how do I take it apart? Never seen anything like this before.

yea its just a 2 prong connector, pretty common on "most" electrical things. you should just be able to pull it apart. well its already half way apart. just need to finish it
its most likely for a censor. but i cant tell where the wires go so i don't know for sure

that's not a stock connector. usually see those used for a trailer connection of some sort, but could be anything.

Yup: not factory.
Frod used those back in the 60s; nowadays they're not OEM on anything, being completely unsealed. Haven't been, even in Frods, since about the mid 70s I guess.
The wire colors are no clue since they're just whatever happened to come on the plugs when whoever bought them off the card gondola in the electrical aisle at AutoZone.
Best advice I can give is to trace it back in both directions, find what somebody used it for, see if it's even still there, and if it is, put something more .... at least, 20th century .... there instead.
