Injector leads and MPGuino

Hey everybody, I recently got this cool little device called an MPGuino thar calculates mpg using the vss and one injector lead. My problem is that our injector system is a grounding system, but the mpguino requires a 12v pulse. So is there anyway to get a 12v pulse out of a grounding system ? Thanks guys

Re: Injector leads and MPGuino

The injector drive on the 1227165 ecm is a 12v system. The ecm controls the pw duty cycle based on alot of factors, load, speed, ect. What is yor question about wiring the injector wire ?

Re: Injector leads and MPGuino

Thanks for that info, I have no idea how these things work lol. Basically the MPGuino requires 12v when ever one injector opens, and from what I've gather from other posts the ECM grounds the injectors rather than connects them to hot. So if I tap into the injector lead at the ECM will I still get a 12v pulse? Or will I simply be shorting to ground?

I really dont get what your asking ? Are you asking if the injector circuit with the injectors wired in series is a dead short to ground ? NO there is a load each injector is around 16-16.5 ohms.

Re: Injector leads and MPGuino

Re-read the instructions. The MPGuino needs to be connectecd to the "cold" side, or the ground pulse trigger side of the injector.
