Coil problems
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I did a quick look and didn't find a better place. So I just recently got done swapping my 305 out and I put a fairly stock 350 in it. The 350 ran great in the car i pulled it out of then I put it in my camaro and it runs alright untill it gets warm then it sounds like it misses a lot and eventually will only idle. I'll shut it off and it won't start for at least 30 mins so I took the coil off and I found that the bottom of it is kind of melted a bit and charred. It's a accel supercoil and a msd distributor. Could some one tell me what is happening and why?

Re: Coil problems
There's supposed to be a rubber insulator underneath of that...looks like it's missing. I'd replace the coil with a quality replacement (AC Delco or similar). I ran a supercoil for a while and it gave me issues, put the stocker from GM performance back on, no noticeable performance differences.

Re: Coil problems
Completely forgot about that.. thanks ill definitely put that on tomorrow. I just turned 17 and am learning on the way. Do you think I need a new coil? It didn't burn a hole in it or anything.
