Low Voltage to Fuel pump.
Low Voltage to Fuel pump.
Hi, everyone. I need some help. I had a mechanic pull some codes off my 1988 Camaro IROC 5.7. The codes he pulled showed MAF sensor or problems, Low voltage to fuel pump, Electronic timing. I replaced the fuel pump about a year ago. The issue I keep having was after running the car for awhile it would stall at traffic lights or stop sings. Car would start back up with no problems and runs fine when driving only stalls at idle after it has warmed up. After replacing MAF sensor and TPS sensor it didn't help. So I posted a Thread on here and guys suggested to replace the Burn off relay and MAF relay which I did and it is much better. Car doesn't stall now until fan kicks on. My voltage naturally drops a little when fan kicks on and that causes the car to stall. It like the fuel pump is requiring more voltage to keep the car running. My car has a 105 amp alternator, should I increase it to 140 amp ? Please help.

Re: Low Voltage to Fuel pump.
Could be an IAC problem, maybe not maintaining a high enough idle when fully warm. What is your idle speed when warm with trans in drive? Too low an idle speed would cause engine to stall and alternator to not put out enough current.

Re: Low Voltage to Fuel pump.
Code 54 sets early when the ecm doesnt get 2 seconds of 12 volts from the fuel pump relay but I get quick starts...and I also have the stalling problem....The car when warm or hot wil Idle down like its suppose too....then it will drop off and stall.
