no start engine fuel pump quiet
no start engine fuel pump quiet
I have a 91camaro rs that i believe has a electrical issue. So long story short the starter wires grounded out on the engine so i ended up replacing both battery cables and it crunk up so i turned it off and started working on the water pump because the old one was bad. After i got finish putting it in i went to crank it and it turned over but no crank i also didn'didn't heart the fuel pump Kick on. I disconnected to the battery for a sec and it crunk. But after i turned it off again it hasnt crunk up again. I bypassed the vats i even ran a hotwire from my pump to my battery (pump turn on)but still no crank. The tbi gets power but no pulse ive also replaced the relay. So now I'm lost its like every time i turn the car off now since it burn the wires it doesnt want to come back on. Please help. It has a ls1 350 C1500 engine in it. The pump gets no power when i turn the key

Check for electrical shorts in close proximity to the wires you replaced. Test the fuel pump relay. You can do this key on engine off and jump the 2 hot leads on the relay connector and listen for the pump to run. Another thing to check would be the oil pressure sender as its back up power for the fuel pump relay.
If thats not the proper way to jump the fp relay feel free to chime in. Im assuming you would jump the connector like any other relay.

Re: no start engine fuel pump quiet
Thanks for the reply. I checked all the fusible links and all the fuses under the dash and the cables to start and everything's fine. I took apart the steeri g wheel to try and find the ignition switch but found that it was on top of the steering column I put everything back together and connected all the wires and harnesses back back up and went to crank the car and the car started. The fuel pump also comes on with the key again. I also jumped the oil pressure sender. I think i might have a bad computer because everything is fine one minute and not the next. Ill try it again tomorrow to see if it still cranks hopefully it does.
