92 Firebird Odometer Problems

92 Firebird Odometer Problems
Afternoon everybody, hoping for a sanity check here.
I've been through 3 different gauge clusters in this '92 Firebird, and I can't get any of the odometers to read. The original 120 mph cluster had a working speedometer, but no odometer/tripometer. The next that I tried was an '87 85mph cluster out of an '87 Firebird. The speedometer worked on it, and the odometer worked for 327 miles, and then it stopped working too. I just finished swapping in a 140mph cluster, and it too has an odometer/tripometer that fails to function (Speedometer works great, but no movement on the odometer).
Is there anything other than broken gears or an electrical failure in the speedometer itself that would cause the speedometer to work, but not the odometer? I'm running a T56 VSS through a Dakota Digital Box, into the '730 ECM, and outputting the signal from the ECM straight to the original dash wiring harness plug for the speedometer. Everything is a '92 manual trans harness (I converted the V6 harness to run the V8 swap).
Any ideas? I find it a little strange that I've never had odometer problems with a 3rdGen before, and now I have 3 in a row. Is there any reputable source out there that will rebuild these if it does turn out to be gears or a resistor or something?
