Digital Dash Problems

I have an 88 GTA with the digital dash that was working perfect. I replaced my headliner and when I started the car I ended up with the following issues:
- Power antenna doesn't work
- Interior lights don't work
- Information screen on digital dash (part that shows milage) is blank
- Once you start driving speedo starts jumping all over the place
- The weirdest one is that if you start the car with drivers door open speedo is in KM. Once you close the door or push in the door switch speedo changes to MPH and stays in MPH.

The rest of the digital dash works fine. Everything on the dash light up and the dimmer works. Anyone ever seen anything like this??? I checked the fuses and everything is fine. Not sure if this is related to replacing the headliner or not. I don't think so because there really isn't any electrical up there except the dome light. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Re: Digital Dash Problems

My guess would be that you did pinch a wire that runs to the dome light . Did you remove the plastic trim that has screws holding it on ? A screw could have pierced an out of place wire . You say you checked all the fuses , did you use a test light and verify power on each side of all the fuses ? How about the secondary fuse box that also has the seat belt buzzer and turn signal flasher on it , are the fuses there good as well ? It is under the dash right near the ALDL connector .

I think if you find and fix the dome light issue , you'll likely have fixed it all ....

Re: Digital Dash Problems

I double checked the fuses and there was a bad fuse. Once I replaced it everything went back to normal. Thanks for the help.

Glad you got it fixed. Just one thing.....check that dome light again for a pinched wire; it might of been the culprit. JMO
