Intermittent Hatch Release Button
I have an 85 T/A, it does NOT have the power hatch pulldown, but it does have a hatch release button on the dashboard. I've noticed that the release button on the dash only works about 40% of the time, the rest of the time it does absolutely nothing (no clicking, nothing).
It's pretty annoying at night or in the rain when I've gotta fumble with the key to get the hatch opened, so I'd really like to get this fix.
Oddly, years ago I owned another 85 T/A and the hatch release behaved exactly the same, that one I never got around to fixing.
So, what and where should I start checking?

Re: Intermittent Hatch Release Button
I wrote a tutorial a few years ago, but for a Camaro. I'm unsure of their similarities but both being GM.......
At the very least, take it apart and look for cleanliness. Gunk might be slowing things down.
