Weird tachometer/gauge behaviour
Hello!
My name is Per, I live in Sweden and am quite new on the forum and as a Camaro owner. I bought a Camaro Iroc 350 TPI -89 a couple of months ago and unfortunatly there's been nothing but trouble. The car is now in the workshop (as it more or less has been since I bought it). Still, shame on the quitter! Do need some help though.
When I shut the car off, the tachometer needle sticks at present rpm (idle). When I turn the ignintion on (without starting), it jumps down to zero and then when I start the engine it works fine. When I think about it, it might apply to other gauges like temp and fuel as well. Is this normal behavior?
Thanks for your help!
Regards,
Per

Re: Weird tachometer/gauge behaviour
that is normal for the tach and gauges-the needles are driven by magnetic coils and there is no "clockspring" to return to minimum position when turned off.Hope you get the other problems sorted soon
