IAT sensor missing
So I bought a 1986 TBI Camaro, and I was in the process of changing the air housing for an Edelbrock open element. As I was following the instruction from this site, I was suppose to disconnect the 2 wires to the IAT sensor. However, there was none. The only thing was able to observe was 2 small tube lines attach to something label "AC" inside the housing. However, I found a grey connector seen in the left side of the picture attached. Is this where the IAT sensor should connect to? What is the "AC" clip or metal inside the stock housing for the air filter?
Thanks for any help.

TBI didn't exist in the 86 Camaro.
What have you REALLY got?
The thing labeled "AC" (part of "AC Delco") is called the "Thermac". On carbed cars (what you most likely have) that is a sort of heat stove around the exh manifold, with a tube that goes up to the air cleaner; and a valve that closes off the "normal" air cleaner input and opens the one that draws air that has been heated in the stove thing, for faster warmups. After the engine reaches something near its usual operating temp the valve goes back to letting in air from the usual source.

Probably had something to do with AIR.
If we knew what kind of car you REALLY have, it would help us guess less inaccurately. Although it sounds like you REALLY have a carbed motor; most likely a LG4, and looks like it's been hacked up quite a bit.

Thanks guys!. I am new to 3rd gen! But you are right, it is a LG4, and it does have a manual switch to the radiator fan, No TBI. I was wondering if the grey connector had to do anything with the fan

Re: IAT sensor missing
No.
It had to do with the AIR system, which has been hacked off of the car. We can see parts of its corpse in the picture.
That car didn't come with an electric fan. If it had, the wire for the fan switch would have been dark green with a white stripe, and since it would have been a single wire, it would have had a single-pole connector. But since some PO added the fan and wired it up in whatever way, none of that matters anyway.
