Back Off !
The Neutral/Backup Light Switch might be out of adjustment.
On the right side of the shifter you will see a slide switch.
The switch has wires going to it.
Loosen 2 screws which allow the switch to be slid fore and aft.
Backup to an object that reflects the light so you can see when they are on.
With the key in the RUN position but the engine OFF, put the shifter in REVERSE.
Now adjust the slide switch so the lights are on.
The switch has a range of movement that keeps the lights on.
Adjust the switch so it’s in the center of that movement.
Now check to see that the lights go out when the shifter is in neutral and park.
If they’re still on in neutral or park slide the switch a fraction of an inch the other way.

If Your Engine Blows Up Over The Finish Line It Was Built Perfectly
